Dominique Ansel’s grill turns into a burger cruise pop-up this week

What happens when one of a world’s tip fritter chefs tackles burgers? While we can’t guarantee cronut-flavored buns, Dominique Ansel’s weeklong burger picnic is still firm to delight—and we can bet there are other honeyed treats and even another pastry-based bun involved.

Launching today, a Dom’s Burgers pop-up is holding over a 189 by Dominique Ansel dining room with feign grass, hammocks, cruise blankets and patties galore. 

With open break—and yesterday’s “spring forward” in mind—Ansel and a group of his initial full-service grill are bringing a outside inside, radically flipping a space into a park currently by Friday, from 11:30am to 2pm. There’ll be several carts via a dining room, including a make-your-own-lemonade stand—offering strawberry-basil, ginger and pineapple variations of a stretch drink—and a roasted-nut cart.

But a cherished item of this cruise is primary to be a burger, with 4 options to select from: beef, lamb, prohibited duck and veggie.

Each burger comes labelled during $15 and includes hand-cut herbed fries, either you’re opting for the 189 Burger Jr., with belligerent pitch and brief rib, tomato concasse confit, hazed preserved onions, Tomme de Savoie cheese and lemon-Dijon espelette aioli on a house-made potato bun; the Lamb Baaa-ger, done of ground lamb, za’atar, feta, verjus red onion and lemon confit aioli; the Hot Fried Chicken DKA Sandwich, which, we guessed it, is crunchy, sharp boiled duck served on a DKA (Ansel’s ever-so-crisp kouign-amann pastry); or the Vegging in a Park, a honeyed potato-and-quinoa blackened patty with curried yogurt, cucumber plight and cheddar.

Finish off a dish with a horchata, melon-and-mint or mango-and-passionfruit popsicle, or some fresh-baked chocolate chunk, chocolate pecan or white chocolate sea salt macadamia cookies from a bakery downstairs, all labelled during $4 apiece.

The format follows 189’s weekend brunch formula, wherein orders shelve adult as stamps on a card, that we afterwards benefaction for your final bill. This week, as we make your approach from mount to stand, get your card stamped per item, afterwards simply take a chair and suffer an afternoon of burgers, fries, lemonade and sweets.
