Oak Flat Public Star Party
August 10, 2017 - Picnic Time
The fourth eventuality in a annual summer array of Oak Flat Public Star Parties will be hold on Saturday, Aug 12th during a Yucca and Juniper areas of a Oak Flat Picnic Grounds south of Tijeras. TAAS telescopes of all forms and sizes will ring a watching margin in this dark-sky plcae easily reserved by a Tijeras Ranger Station.
Adaptations were done for glow restrictions during a Jul star party, though we wish to have full open conditions for August. The gates to a parking areas (restrooms are during Yucca only) will open during 6:00pm, so that guest can have time to cruise and suffer a area and get to know a astronomers and their telescopes as they set adult before dim solemnly moves in and watching begins. Sunset is during approximately 7:57pm. Please arrive before dark.
Free and open to a public–Families welcome! Bring jackets for any dusk chill and H2O as needed, and red light headlamps or flashlights to safety night prophesy on a watching field
